Welland Rays (2)

Game 1 Playoffs Rays vs Rangers

Updated Tuesday July 17, 2018 by Welland Minor Baseball.

On the back of strong pitching and some timely hitting the Ray's lost a heartbreaker 6-5 in game one of the playoffs vs the Ranger's Monday night. Ben Hogue pitched inning 1 facing the tough top of the Ranger's lineup (3 runs no outs). Owen Ferland followed with a strong inning striking out the side, and Gavyn Lallouet pitched the final two, and was on point striking out 4 and only giving up only 3 run's in the 2 innings combined. Offensively all our hits came in the third inning. Tyler Lee had a single, Kelsan Stayzer had an RBI(2) double and Owen Ferland capped it off with an RBI single. Ryland Warren and Owen Ferland also recorded RBI's via walk. Brielle Seguin got hit by a pitch in the third and is second only to Ryland Warren as to who has been hit the most times! Overall a strong start to the playoffs as the Ray's look to take on the Braves at home on Thursday!
